Discover clarinet components
The clarinet is made up of 5 sections:
Mouthpiece – The first piece that goes in the mouth, holds the reed, which is secured with a ligature, and produces the vibration for sound.
Barrel – The second piece, which is small and serves as a connector between the mouthpiece and the upper joint.
Upper Joint – Part 3 is the first part with tone holes and keys & it is held in the left hand.
Lower Joint – Part 4 is the only other part with tone holes and keys & it is held in the right hand.
Bell – Finally, the bell flares out at the bottom and helps to project and distribute the sound.
